This tattered chair in a desolate space on a mountain side is a story of loneliness and despair of the effects of living with a brain injury. A traumatic brain injury can cause a loss of cognitive and/or physical abilities. People may experience a sense of disconnection from their previous way of life, and face new struggles and hardships and unfamiliar terrain. Being misunderstood can cause a sense of isolation and loneliness. This scene brings forth these feelings.
Net proceeds from the sale of this print during Brain Injury Awareness month, March 2023 was donated to organizations that are dedicated to brain injury awareness, research, and rehabilitation.
