Queen Anne's Lace Bloom Framed Print

$250.00

Botanical Fine Art Print
From the series “Beyond Blooms: Revelations of Aging”

One story of how this flower got its name is while Queen Anne II of England was tatting white lace, she pricked her finger with the tatting needle, causing a drop of blood to fall on her lace. This is why the white flowers have dark red flowers in the center. This bloom also serves as a sacrificial lure to attract pollinators. The contrasting color amidst the white florets draws in insects, helping to ensure the fertilization of the surrounding fertile flowers.

This is the only framed piece available from exhibition.
Print without frame available in 16 x 20" here.

Printed with archival pigment inks on 100% cotton smooth matte paper.
Frame finish matte gold.
