Art for multiple sclerosis

I’M VERY HAPPY TO HAVE BEEN PART OF A FUNDRAISING EVENT
TO HELP FRIENDS RAISE MONEY FOR MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS RESEARCH.
From August 21-September 21 proceeds from the Limited Edition print “The Fox and The Aspen”
benefited the fundraising efforts of Margie and Bill Wood for Multiple Sclerosis.
I would like to thank everyone who purchased a print and made this a success.
Although the fundraiser has ended, some prints are still available.

A fox can symbolize independence, protection, and good fortune. The aspen tree with it’s beautiful crown of leaves is a shield of strength. A grove of aspens has one root system. A support system for one another. For many people who live with debilitating conditions, it is my hope that they are surrounded by all these, support and protection of family and friends as well as inner strength and good fortune, the fox and the aspen.

August 2022
When I started the Trenda Roch Fine Art Photography gallery online, one of my goals was to be able to use my art for a good cause. My plan is to choose one or two organizations each year to create a special print to sell and donate proceeds.

I had a couple organizations in mind, but fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis landed at just the right time. Friends Margie and Bill Wood have been raising money for Multiple Sclerosis for 16 years.

Margie was diagnosed with MS when she was 30. She was told there was a good chance she would be in a wheelchair by the time she was 50. At that time there were no meds to keep the disease from getting worse, just steroids to combat the exacerbations. By the time she did start having more severe exacerbations there were meds available to help keep them from being so severe. That was all because of research. Over time she has continued to take an injection once a week and has done tremendously well. Margie and BilI feel so fortunate and they never want to take her health for granted.

When they knew they wanted to help make MS research go further, Bill used his love of biking to ride for “bike MS” and needed to raise a minimum of $400. Margie didn't want to just ask people for donations, so they decided it would be a fun to invite people over for a wine gathering and fund raise. They started with about 20 people and have grown to what is now “BikeMS Beerfest” that brought in 195 people last year! It is a great way to combine Bill's love of road biking and raise money to help the MS research continue and help others who are not as fortunate as Margie. They love to be surrounded by family and friends for such a special event! According to the donation website, Bill and fellow bike riders have raised over $13,000 so far this year.

During the Beerfest event there was a silent auction. My limited edition framed print “The Fox and The Aspen” (chosen just for this event) was sold in the auction. I’d like to continue the fundraising and sell unframed prints along with a smaller size online and all the net proceeds from August 21-September 21 will go to Margie and Bill’s MS Fundraiser.
